About Varietal: Blended Scotch whisky constitutes over 90% of the whisky produced in Scotland. Blended Scotch whiskies generally contain 10 50% malt whisky, blended with grain whisky, with the higher quality brands having the highest percent malt. They were initially created for the English market, where pure malt whiskies were considered too harshly flavoured (the main two spirits consumed in England at the time being brandy in the upper classes, and gin in the lower ones). Master blenders combine the various malts and grain whiskies to produce a consistent "brand style". Blended whiskies frequently use the same name for a range of whiskies at wildly varying prices and (presumably) quality.

Recipe: Hot Spiced Apple Champagne Punch Recipe 3 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice 1 Tbsp grated orange zest 12 oz frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed 4 bottles white wine 1 bottle Champagne, chilled For Ice Ring 8oz pineapple chunks 1 orange, sliced into rounds 4oz maraschino cherries, drained This definitely makes enough for a large party! Put the pumpkin pie spice, orange zest and apple juice into a pan. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat. In a large container, mix juice and white wine, and chill overnight. At this same time, make an ice ring out of the fruits, and freeze overnight. Strain the liquid, and put into a punch bowl. Add in the Champagne. Top with fruit ice ring.

OLD MONK RUM

Old Monk is a vatted Indian dark rum, blended and aged for 7 years (though there is also more expensive, 12 year old version). It is dark, with an alcohol content of 42.8%. It is produced by Mohan Meakin, based in Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, available in all parts of India.Old Monk is the third largest selling rum in the world.It is sold in four size variants 180 ml (quarter/ pauaa), 375 ml (half/ addha), 750 ml (commonly referred to as a "khamba" meaning "full bottle"), and a 1 liter bottle.
